Due to the H1N1 flu pandemic, U.S. Health Officials recommended for seasonal flu vaccines on Friday 24th, July 2009 as Influenza Vaccine Immunization (Flu Shot) stated by the Reuters. It is said that all chidren with age from 6 months to 18 years shoul be immunized. According to WHO’s flu chief, the first vaccines production are expected in September and October. Below, we provide you with an article regarding 2009-10 Influenza Shot (Influenza Vaccination) as FDA Recommendation

Based on the recommendations of the FDA’s Vaccine and Related Products Advisory Committee, the vaccine for the 2009-2010 seasonal influenza contains: an A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1)-like virus, an A/Brisbane/10/2007 (H3N2)-like virus, and a B/Brisbane/60/2008-like virus. Those are three strains that manufacturers should include in their vaccines for the U.S. population.

Because the H1N1 influenza virus (swine flu) is typically new, most people haven’t developed an immunity to this virus type. Thus, vaccination against seasonal influenza should begin as soon as vaccine is available and continue throughout the influenza season. From the first case identified by April, the swine flu has infected more than 1 million Americans people, and has been linked to 700 human deaths worldwide until this Friday, according to the WHO.
