Below we provide you with an algorithm for the management of uninvestigated dyspepsia from the American College of Gastroenterology.
It is recommended to start an empiric acid suppression for 4-8 week as first-line therapy when there is H. pylori-negative cases of uninvestigated dyspepsia and no alarm features. If the initial failed after 2-4 week, this may require medicine class or dosing (expert opinion only) such as prokinetic. In the condition of responding initial therapy, the treatment is recommended to be stopped after 4-8 weeks, if symptoms persist worth considering of long-term self-directed therapy.
