As have been pressed release at Reuters about an hour ago, there is possibly E. coli O157:H7 bacteria contaminated in Beef Production's Recall the beef produced by Greeley, Colorado-based JBS-Swift Beef Co, a Brazilian meat company JBS S.A. They are expanding a recall of beef due to an investigation found 18 illnesses may be linked to the meat, according to the the company and the U.S. Agriculture Department said on Sunday, 28th.

The affected beef was produced on April 21 and was distributed nationally and internationally, since the contamination may have come from further processing by other companies, according to the JBS spokesman.

The recalled beef are typically used for steaks and roasts rather than ground beef, but some of them may have been processed into ground products by other companies.

For your information, the investigation is performed by USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
