Here we serve you with information regarding guidelines for hypertension in association with the prevention,
detection, evaluation and the treatment of high blood pressure for primary care. It is the Seventh Joint National Comittee (JNC 7) which has some renewal from its former JNC 6 at 1997.
The need to choose JNC 7 was based on publication of many new hypertension observational studies and clinical trials, need for new hypertension guidelines for clinicians, simplify the classification of blood pressure, to maximize the benefit of the JNC reports.
The JNC7 for hypertension prevention and management outlines the following aspects: the risk of CVD in persons older than 50 yrs whic systolic blood pressure greater than 140mmHg, the CVD’s risk begins at 115/75 mmHg doubles with each increment of 20/10mmHg, individuals with 120-139/80-89 mmHg of blood pressure should be considered as prehypertensive to prevent CVD, the requirements of two or more antihypertensive medications for achieving goal blood pressure and many more.
